GRE Study Plan 1-updated

GRE STUDY PLAN -1
Hi Friends,
I believe my previous posts could helped you in getting some basic idea about the New GRE exam, its pattern and its composition. I have started my work with the Analytical Writing Section, which plays the key-role in analyzing the student's writing skill , range of vocabulary and Analytical Skills. So my previous posts filled with the marking scheme of issue and Argument essays, i believe that would have helped you. Please look for the sample issue and argument essays from my blog, as it will be updated regularly. Soon i will start to post about the verbal and Quantitative sections of GRE in my blog.....

So now, i want to inform you about the time-table preparation for the New GRE Preparation. This is the toughest part to decide, as many of the new mates have the following questions in their mind......

1.) Which is the Best Time to start preparing for the GRE examination???
I would suggest you all to start the GRE Preparation when you are in the Pre-Final Year of your Bachelors. As you can spend some more time in preparation. If that's not possible , try to start your preparation at-least by final year.

2.) So How many month preparation is sufficient to take the GRE??
The Answer depends solely on you, some may have a strong vocabulary background from their school life and some fail to use the basic vocabulary in their normal life. So if You feel you are good at vocabulary, you can do well (But i bet its tough to compete with the GRE Vocabularies, as most words used in that are uncommon and hard to memorize it) .So i believe you should start your preparation in prior and should work hard to achieve the top score.

3.) How Should i start my preparation for the GRE ??
I feel its good to follow the these 20 step plan to prepare for your GRE......

GRE Study Plan
  1. You Know your current skill by taking the Diagnostic test, It can be done by downloading the Power Prep II Software from the official GRE website.Click here to Download Power Prep II Software
  2. From the results Diagnostic test, you could find your skill level in GRE exam, You should start concentrating in the weak points. This should be the initial step for all the Preparation.
  3. Then from the diagnostic score, you should be able to think in the perspective way of your score in the final GRE exam.
  4. So before that , decide upon your universities and check the GRE score required to get into that university and Work accordingly. Confirm the deadlines for individual universities and register for your New Revised GRE Exam as early as possible to confirm your test dates and timing. 5. Lets assume you decided on a Target Score of about 310(max score is 340). So Plan your study accordingly to achieve that score.
  6. So you could have identified your weaknesses from the Diagnostic Test, So try to concentrate more on your weak parts in GRE. Start your preparation from your weak parts.
  7. Plan your well scheduled Time-table for the GRE preparation, You should be able to decide the total hours to be allotted for GRE Preparation in a day, Split the Time in the most effective way and start your preparation according to that.
  8. The time of preparation varies between one-person to another, because each have a unique learning method and have a different grasping power. So don't try to imitate others style, find your best preparation time.
  9. If you have a your GRE exam in 2-3 months and you are preparing for 1 hour daily, you will end up at getting 20-30 points less than your targeted score, So prepare wisely.
  10. The main key to success in GRE is the GRE materials we use, If you use the best GRE materials in the most effective way with complete sincerity and dedication towards GRE, you will achieve your desired GRE score. So try to track down your performance at regular Intervals.
  11. Try to attend as many GRE Practice tests as possible ,before your exam. This way you can track your Improvement periodically and also spend time to analyze your time on your mistakes, and make a note of your mistake, so that you will not commit that mistake again. Always make note of your improvement in your weak areas.
  12. Always track on where you stand from your Target score, You should be able to see the improvement in your score and after few months, you should be close enough to your target score.
  13. After some few months, if you find that there is no improvement in your score, try to change your study to prepare effectively and work on your plan sincerely.
  14. If you find you are weak in a particular section concentrate more on that part,               Example- Reading comprehension- Then practice as much as 15-20 Reading comprehension passages a day and try to get hold of it completely .
  15. That's it, No more tips...it's all in your hands...just stick to your routine and prepare sincerely till the last day of your exam, and Don't try to work very hard in the last night of your GRE Exam, Keep it calm , Don't Panic and All the Best.
